Rookie move not making the pudding from scratch. Huge difference in taste between boxed. And you also don't need to add whipped cream to the scratch made pudding/custard.

In Louisiana we call this version "rice dressing". Dirty rice down here includes livers and maybe gizzards. Rice dressing doesnt.

I basically use the same soup recipe but in my grilled cheese I use a 4 cheese combo Parmesan, smoked Gouda, smoked provolone, cheese Parmesan is for the outside to form a tasty crust

I laughed our loud, "you might end up with risotto." I make my rice separately too to prevent that from happening. This is a solid recipe.
